Responsible for assisting in the identification of selling opportunities and for merchandising products across all of, or a majority of the operating companies of PepsiCo (Pepsi Cola, Frito-Lay, Gatorade, Tropicana, and Quaker Foods).

 This position directly impacts the sales process having continuous contact with the customer (on multiple levels), through sales and account development visits as scheduled by the PepsiCo Foodservice Area Sales Manager.
 The Customer Development Manager (CDM) will be responsible for developing a geographic territory with a core customer set of approximately 85 customers. The CDM will be asked to call on customers outside of the 85 that are relevant to the growth of PepsiCo and its bottling partners. The CDM will be responsible for all components of customer development including selling, merchandising, rotating and staff training at all assigned customers. The CDM is expected to be in the market 5 days a week spending 90+% of working time in front of the customer.
 
Key Responsibilities
Identify and sell against assortment (product) opportunities for all PepsiCo LOBs
Identify and sell against presence (space) opportunities for all PepsiCo LOBs
Identify order management opportunities and be able to develop and articulate mutually beneficial solutions
Sell new items (line extensions) for all PepsiCo LOB?s
Fill, rotate and face beverage equipment while maintaining approved plan-o-grams
Fill, rotate and face food racks while maintaining approved plan-o-grams
Inventory product in order to arrive at an informed suggested order for the customer
Build equipment as it arrives at the operator location
Aid in the effective management of SKUs & product mix for all assigned customers
Complete call/activity reporting daily (1 call report per call made)
Complete suggested order template for each account as call is made
Condense back-stock and put empty cardboard boxes in the appropriate location in each account visited
Conduct sampling/consumer events designed to generate consumer trail and awareness
Place product order (in some cases) utilizing the customers ordering system
Determine and implement call objective by interpreting suggestions utilizing road mapping/directional tool.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree
Demonstrated professionalism and dependability
Must have demonstrable collaboration and influencing skills
Ability and desire to work independently in the absence of direct supervision
Proven ability to work under narrow time constraints
Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Able to analyze and solve problems with varying degrees of complexity
Effective communication skills involving varying levels/types of positions
Some computer skills /experience
Ability to prioritize
Willing and able to take initiative
Demonstrated high level of integrity
Some lifting (up to 50lbs) required as part of role
US Citizenship required to enter many government/military accounts

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor degree (recent graduates preferred)
Some level of outside sales experience preferred, Foodservice /customer service exp. Is a plus
